How does it work?
TrueNorth lets you import marketing activity from any of the following dimensions:
Campaign (UTM, Microsoft Ads, Google Ads, SEO, Email)
Medium (Specify a medium for traffic)
Source (Specify a traffic source)
Source/Medium (Specify the combination of the source and medium)
Page (Specify a page within your site)
Which one you import determines what you’d like to classify as a “campaign” in TrueNorth.
In essence, a TrueNorth campaign based on Google Analytics data is just a way to segment and track individual data sources. This means it is flexible to your individual Google Analytics set up.
What is the process to import campaigns?
To import campaigns, you will need:
✅ Access to the account you wish to use
✅ An idea of which campaigns you wish to import (you can import all)
✅ An idea of which goals map to your funnel
Optional (to add customised campaigns)
✅ The name of the page, source or medium you want to track
The process for importing campaigns is as follows:

How does TrueNorth record campaign results?
GA (Universal Analytics)
When you select what you’d like to import as a campaign, we will also fetch the following metrics:
Users
Transaction Revenue (we pull this across as standard, don’t worry if this isn’t how you track your revenue)
Goals (standard and customised user interaction tracking from your account)
GA 4 [Beta]
When you select what you’d like to import as a campaign, we will also fetch the following metrics:
Users
New Users
Total Revenue (we pull this across as standard, don’t worry if this isn’t how you track your revenue)
Conversions (flagged app/web events to track user interaction that we detect in your account)
Campaign results are standardised across all your marketing activity by relating them to your funnel. This means you will need to map them according to your business needs.
For example:
Visitors == Users
Demos == Conversions
What if I don’t have a metric to map to every funnel metric for a campaign?
The minimum mapping you will need to do for each campaign is just one metric. This is to ensure that we can register at least a result for a campaign. The metric doesn’t have to be the same across all your campaigns. We use the funnel to standardise the reporting across different metrics, and different campaign sources.
Please Note:
The mapping is flexible, and the integrations can be easily edited after the initial set up is complete.
